When it comes to freelancing it is essential to find the balance between working and relaxing. I mean I have had the fair share of getting off the bed as soon as I get into, to do a simple modification, for my buyer, who lives on the other side of the world. Then it hit me!!
Yes, I need to find a balance. Because no sleep means your work is also affected. “You earn more” you might say- but no sleep equals to more modifications, cancelations and frustrations. Plus your sleepy brain won’t function properly, while you do a project.
So what do you do?
Luckily for me, I love my freelance career so far. But that doesn’t mean I have all good days. I do have bad days, no work days and many other days that nothing seems to go right. My solution, distracting myself every one hour and let my vision and mind wonder for about ten minutes.
How do I distract myself and relax? By looking at my garden, where the birds dance and squirrels play and cats do hunt. I sometimes wander into the garden to capture the Blue butted honey bee that makes such a fuss when collecting nectar. Top of all my main workstation is placed facing the garden. This provides me free entertainment and good for my eyes (didn’t someone say green is good to the eye).
What’s my conclusion, it’s great to have a little distraction while you work. It can be anything from drawing doodles, listening to some music or just baking something up. This will help you to relax and get back to work with a fresh mind. A simple method, that can boost your work life, happier and merrier as well as stress free.
Hope you can share what you do to distract yourself from work and enjoy!!!!!
