What if a client asks you to create a gif animation and you don’t have the skill to do it. Will you decline the project offer ?
Hold on… pause for a minute…..
What if…. You knew how to create gif animations, and you accepted the offer to do the design project. This new skill could be more profitable too.
As a freelancer learning new skills have helped me out a lot. I have learned to create architectural designs (yes I do have a diploma in Interior design), video and audio editing, small 3d animations are some of them.
I know you might wonder how I learn new skills plus do you have time.
As a freelancer, there are times when you have dry or less work periods. I use that time to learn new skills. Apart from that I have my clients who inquire, whether I can do such & such. So this gives me an idea to try it out, and some succeed and some are out of my scope.
I like to experiment and that’s one way I learn new skills. I also try to recreate what I see as a way of learning. A lot of good tutorials can be found on youtube that I refer to. I also read books and practice them when I have time.
